I have been chasing the #PlimothJacket for years and yesterday I caught it! When Jill Hawkins--my first #lace instructor--told me about this project, I was enchanted. Reproduction lace for period garments was exactly my goal in learning to make lace. Because it was going into competition, I couldn't show the results of this until it became public. Yesterday I found out it won "Best use of color" at the Big E Agricultural fair in Massachusetts. Woot! Come by the exhibit hall if you are Watching the local news, I just realized that the show #WidowsBay was filmed in #RockportMA. Usually I do #IpswichLace, but I can do Rockport lace! I have a piece of lace inspired by Rockport--I did #Motif1 in lace, with beads as buoys--for our lace How wonderful was this space for learning #BobbinLace! In #IpswichMA! So much light. We were just a few houses down from where Mary Baker taught the children of Ipswich 200 years ago. We are now teaching new lacemakers right here.
